Over the past couple years we have done some work fixing up some old Allis Chalmers tractors that we use nearly everyday.

They are fantastic yard tractors, very nimble and maneuverable while being very economical to run.

I never got why people want a John Deere 4020 so badly, after growing up on Allis Chalmers there is nothing better for a nearly 100 hp tractor

First up is a 1969 Allis Chalmers 190 . My dad bought this tractor used around 1972 and installed a GB loader. It was the workhorse of the farm for a long time pulling press drills, sprayers, swathers, and loading an unfathomable amount of dirt and gravel as our farm yard was built up from a green field.

After some work on the engine , the tractors were repainted by a local paint shop and we reinstalled the factory stickers. The GB Loader Work Master decals were custom made and recreated from original photos and measurements.

After seeing the 190 look so good, it was time for the 200’s turn. We have had this tractor for only 15 years or so, but it was used extensively for row crop cultivating and to power a Walinga grain vac. After an engine tuneup it headed to the same paint shop. It is now used mostly on a tiller, grain auger and snow blower as it eases into retirement.

Here are some more photos from the archives.
